Booking a centre tour is an exciting first step in choosing the right early learning environment for your child. At Treetops Early Learning Centres, our tours are relaxed, welcoming, and all about helping you feel confident in your decision, no pressure, just honest conversations and a chance to see our centres in action.
Here’s what you can expect when you come in for a visit.
Bring Your Child Along - It Makes a Difference
We encourage parents to bring their child (or children) along when visiting our centre. A tour isn’t just for adults, it’s an important opportunity for your child to experience the environment too.
Seeing how your child responds can be incredibly reassuring. You may notice them naturally exploring the space, engaging with resources, or observing other children at play. These small moments often provide valuable insight into how comfortable they feel in the environment.
Visiting together also supports smoother transitions if you choose to enrol. The sights, sounds, and people begin to feel familiar, helping children feel more confident when they return.
Experience the Vibe
Choosing an early learning centre isn’t just about routines, facilities, or location, it’s about how the space feels.
Te Whāriki, New Zealand’s early childhood curriculum, places strong emphasis on belonging, wellbeing, and relationships. Children learn best when they feel safe, respected, and connected, and this is something you can often sense during a centre visit.
A tour allows you to experience the day-to-day atmosphere of the centre: how teachers interact with children, how calm or energetic the environment feels, and how children move through their day. This “vibe” is difficult to describe online, but often becomes clear the moment you step through the door.
A Warm Welcome for You and Your Child
From the moment you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by our friendly team, who understand that choosing childcare is a big decision. Children are free to observe, explore, or join in at their own pace while you chat with us.
If your child feels a little unsure, that’s completely normal. Our teachers are experienced in supporting children who are still building confidence in new environments.
A Walk Through Our Learning Spaces
During your tour, you’ll be shown around our indoor and outdoor environments, giving you a feel for how children learn and play throughout the day. You’ll see:
Purposefully designed learning spaces
Age-appropriate rooms and routines
Outdoor areas that encourage exploration and movement
Calm, welcoming environments that support wellbeing
We’ll explain how learning happens naturally through play and everyday experiences.
Our Teaching Philosophy
We’ll talk you through how our teaching approach supports your child’s development and how we implement Te Whāriki in a meaningful, practical way.
Rather than education jargon, we focus on what this means for your child, developing confidence, independence, social skills, and a love of learning in a supportive environment.
Meet the Teaching Team
A centre tour is a great opportunity to meet some of our teachers and see the relationships they build with children. You’ll notice warm, respectful interactions and a genuine passion for early learning.
You’re welcome to ask about qualifications, ratios, or how we support children’s emotional and social development.
Your Questions Answered
This is your time to ask anything that’s important to your family, including:
Settling-in routines
Daily schedules
Meals and nutrition
Communication with families
Fees, funding, and enrolment options
If it matters to you, it matters to us.
Next Steps
At the end of your tour, we’ll explain what the next steps look like if you’d like to enrol, including availability and the enrolment process. There’s no obligation to decide straight away, we want you to take the time you need.
A Tour That Feels Right
Choosing an early childhood centre is about trust, connection, and feeling at ease. Our centre tours are designed to give you a genuine sense of who we are, how we support children, and whether Treetops feels like the right fit for your whānau.
If you’re ready to book a tour, we’d love to meet you and your little one
