Exciting Events at Our Treetops Preschool Centres

At Treetops Early Learning Centres, we go beyond education — we celebrate learning, growth, and connection through a calendar full of exciting, child-centred events. From cultural celebrations to community involvement, every event is thoughtfully designed to engage tamariki and their whānau in meaningful ways.

Whether you’re near our preschool in Botany — close to East Tamaki, Flat Bush, and Ormiston — or at our Pukekohe preschool, located near Paerata Rise, Karaka, and Bombay, you’ll always find something special happening. Our events bring families together, strengthen our community bonds, and create lasting memories for every child.

Supporting Charties

Our preschool centres get involved in national campaigns such as Gumboot Friday, which raises awareness for youth mental health; Pink Shirt Day, where we stand together against bullying; Daffodil Day, supporting the Cancer Society; and Jammies for June, helping keep Kiwi kids warm during winter.

Together, we make a difference — one small act of kindness at a time.

Celebrating Culture, Language, and Identity

We mark special occasions such as Samoan Language Week, Māori Language Week, and New Zealand Sign Language Week, creating immersive experiences that help children learn, appreciate, and respect different languages and ways of communicating.

Our tamariki also take part in vibrant celebrations like Diwali, Christmas, Easter, Heritage Day, and Matariki – New Zealand’s Māori New Year and more. These events are filled with storytelling, music, food, art, and traditions, giving children the chance to explore the values and histories of cultures from around the world.

Why Events Matter in Preschool Education

Events play an essential role in early childhood education, especially within our preschool rooms. They go far beyond fun and celebration – they create meaningful opportunities for growth, connection, and learning.

  • Encourage Social Interaction
Children build friendships, develop communication skills, and learn how to collaborate through shared experiences.

  • Create Hands-On Learning Opportunities
Our events offer interactive, real-world learning that sparks curiosity, creativity, and a love for discovery.

  • Strengthen Family and Community Connections
By involving whānau in centre events, we build stronger relationships between families and the wider preschool community.

  • Celebrate Milestones and Cultural Diversity
From birthdays to cultural festivals, we celebrate achievements and honour the rich diversity of our tamariki and their families.

At Treetops, our events help children feel a sense of belonging, pride, and excitement – all essential foundations for lifelong learning.
