At Treetops, we believe "the relationship is all" whether this is between the children, the teachers, whānau or the community. ‘The relationship is all’ is the fundamental aspect of our philosophy. This is why we love to include everyone within our Centre and special events throughout the year. 

Grandparents Day is a special event where we invite all Grandparents, Great Grandparents, surrogate Grandparents or special friends of children at Treetops to join us for a morning/afternoon tea.

This is an opportunity for them to spend time together and see what their Grandchild gets up to each day in their Treetops environment. We like to combine Grandparents day with our book week each year, which leads to a fun dress-up day on Grandparents day. We welcome our Grandparents to come and read to their grandchildren and share their favourite stories.

Our philosophy states that trust is paramount in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with children, parents and whānau. When children feel safe, secure and loved, the best learning outcomes occur. We see this as an essential link to a child’s development, which is why we strive to include our children’s families within the Centre as much as possible. These important relationships play a crucial role in empowering our children to relate and make connections with their world, people, places and things.

We love meeting these special people in your children’s lives, and we can often tell when they walk through the door whose Grandparent they are. These influential people in our children’s lives provide families with love, encouragement, patience and are role models and teachers to our younger generation. We highly value their input and love sharing the children’s daily rituals, interests and experiences they enjoy at Treetops each day with them.
